The owners opened the doors to Carib Sushi in 2005 as soon as it was possible after Hurricane Ivan. At the time sushi was new to Grenada but an obvious choice due to the quality of the tuna, mahi mahi, kingfish, snapper etc. In 2017, the Teppanyaki Lounge opened its doors adding something new to the Carib Sushi portfolio. Teppanyaki is a great dining experience watching the chef perform in front of you whilst cooking top quality steak, lobster, shrimp, fish, chicken or vegetarian options. A culinary adventure for all your senses.

Now, in 2024 another new adventure!

A little insight into the men behind the red chef jackets at the new Beachside Bistrot on Grand Anse Beach. Head Chef Lele, a proud Italian with a passion for the sea, brings with him a vast amount of culinary knowledge. Also, an accomplished sportsman within the American Football league and Rugby Union as was a player in his early years, but always with a love of good food. Quality food has always been key, it’s in Lele’s genes, part of him and his family.

After Lele’s sports career on the land, sailing became part of his life and not happy with just the normal level of sailing he found himself competing as Crew for the America’s Cup Challenge from 1988 to 1992, winning the Louis Vuitton Cup in 1992. After this amazing experience Lele’s focus turned to cooking and he attended various courses and worked in Michelin star rated restaurants in Italy. Many years were also spent working in the Mediterranean at top quality restaurants as well as for the rich and famous at their homes, luxury villas and on mega yachts.

In 2020, there was a big change of direction for Lele, and he walked away from the fast-paced life looking for a simpler focus. So, when his dear friend approached him again about an opportunity of working in Grenada, he said yes. Michael and Lele have known each other since their twenties and knowing Michaels high standards Lele said yes without any hesitation.

Chef Dani has come back to Grenada after leaving Carib Sushi in 2022, as he wasn’t quite ready for retirement, and is now the Sous Chef at Beachside Bistrot supporting Head Chef Lele.

The internationally acclaimed Grand Anse Beach with its pristine white sand, is the location for this new Mediterranean style Bistrot. A small, whitewashed building with 30 covers, located next to Radisson Hotel right on the beach boasting an amazing view of the Caribbean sea. You can watch the world go by whilst being served by the small but friendly team including our Mixologist. A small menu is offered with traditional Mediterranean dishes, plus 3 or 4 daily specials.
